ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts Payable
  • Process and review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval.
  • Manage payment processing, vendor reconciliations, and outstanding balances.
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures.
  • Support audit requests and month-end accruals.
Payroll
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely.
  • Review timekeeping records, payroll adjustments, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Respond to team member payroll inquiries.
  • Process off-cycle check requests.
  • Responsible for clerical duties such as copying, filing, etc. all payroll documents
Staff Accountant Duties
  • Prepare AP accruals for month-end closing
  • Reconcile payroll-related liabilities and balance sheet accounts.
  • Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
Additional Responsibilities

In addition to Accounts Payable and Payroll duties, the Staff Accountant may:

  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Reconcile payroll liabilities, benefits, and payroll-related accounts.
  • Analyze labor costs and payroll trends.
  • Maintain all contracts and Certification of Insurance.
  • Recommend process improvements and efficiencies within accounting and payroll functions.
  • Serve as a backup for other accounting functions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
