Job description

Accounts Payable Manager LHH Recruitment is partnering with a growing organization in East Phoenix that is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high-performing AP team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role is FULLY onsite, compensation up to $95,000 DOE.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop an Accounts Payable team of at least five employees, providing coaching, performance management, and ongoing support.
  • Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and vendor payments.
  • Establish priorities, delegate workloads, and monitor team productivity to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Review and approve invoice batches, payment runs, vendor setups, and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee the administration of the Concur Expense platform, including expense report review and approval workflows, policy compliance, user support, audit of employee expense submissions, and timely reimbursement processing. Partner with leadership to ensure corporate travel and expense policies are consistently followed and identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance leadership to support month-end close activities, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Resolve complex invoice discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and payment issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, increase efficiency, and implement best practices.
  • Monitor department metrics and provide regular reporting to leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, and other departments to ensure smooth invoice processing and payment workflows.
  • Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation and responding to audit requests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Manager, Supervisor, or Team Lead with direct leadership responsibility.
  • Must have experience managing a team of at least five employees.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle Accounts Payable and month-end close processes.
  • Experience working in a high-volume AP environment.
  • ERP system experience required (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
