Job description

Account Executives are laying the foundation as leaders at MP+F. Account executives lead projects (and in some instances, smaller client teams), develop team and client strategies with managers and senior supervisors, regularly communicate with clients, learn to build and track budgets, and review bills. Account executives begin intentionally developing managerial skills with the support of senior leaders on your teams. Developing these skills takes time, therefore account executives should expect to remain at this position until these skills have been effectively demonstrated over an extended period of time. This role is based in our Knoxville, TN office.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates abilities to “manage up” and support team leaders as second in command
• Writing and editing (press releases and media pitches, website/blog copy, digital ad copy, Op-Eds, social media copy, as well as media plans and communications strategies)
• Reviewing content written by team members
• Delegation and project management (coordinating tasks with team members; monitoring progress, apprising team leaders of project status and keeping projects moving through the development and review process)
• Media relations (managing relationships with reporters; developing strategies and ideas for media outreach on client projects, in addition to writing, sending and following up on pitches and news releases; coordinating media attendance at events)
• Leading or actively participating in team and client meetings
• Supporting team leads on budget tracking and bill review
• Reviewing data and analysis from Google Data Studio, social media platforms and ads, and developing key insights and takeaways for clients
• Event planning logistics and management; developing and executing plans for events, facilitating recaps
• Ongoing team support, which may include dealing with crisis communications, database management, client interaction, setting team culture/morale and more
• Participates and contributes to the company culture – write blog posts, attend pro devs, staff meetings, internal events, etc.
• Contributing to new business proposals, including proposal building, supporting research and brainstorming for opportunities
• Actively monitoring industry trends/news and sharing with team members
• Identify certificates, webinars, conferences to participate in based on your client teams, career goals and interests

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, advertising or PR, with a focus on client strategy and execution. Agency experience is strongly preferred.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

• Demonstrated strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Familiarity with the latest marketing and PR tools, technologies, and trends.

• Passion for staying up-to-date with industry best practices and continuously improving skills.
