Role Overview

We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager with strong estimating capabilities to drive revenue growth in the commercial painting and coatings sector.
This is not a traditional sales role and not a pure estimator position.
This role owns the full cycle:
  • generating and developing relationships
  • qualifying opportunities
  • preparing estimates
  • closing deals
The ideal candidate operates with a strong sense of ownership and is capable of independently generating leads, developing relationships and converting opportunities into profitable projects.
Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Facility Managers, Property Managers, and other target client profiles
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities (outbound and relationship-driven)
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of opportunities matching Company’s Ideal Customer Profile
  • Participate in the industry events, attend networking to generate new business
  • Lead client meetings, site visits, and scope discussions
  • Prepare and deliver proposals with a focus on Company’s Value Proposition
  • Follow up consistently and close deals
Estimating

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Prepare detailed scopes of work
  • Develop accurate estimates using Company’s process
  • Ensure estimates are aligned with company pricing strategy and margin targets
Pipeline Ownership

  • Take full ownership of assigned opportunities from first contact to contract execution
  • Maintain accurate tracking of leads, estimates, and conversions using Company CRM
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles (sales, business development, or account management)
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial painting, residential painting, industrial or floor coatings, or a related construction trade is preferred
  • Proven record of ability to self-generate leads 
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to problem solve
  • Existing network in the Dallas–Fort Worth market is strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Property Managers, Facility Managers, Maintenance Teams
  • Existing established relationships with Commercial Property Managers, Facility Managers, HOAs etc.
  • Experience in estimating commercial projects
  • Strong understanding of:
    • surface preparation requirements
    • coating systems 
    • commercial project scopes
