Mission of the Commercial Account Executive

To serve and grow an assigned book of commercial clients by providing exceptional service, proactive policy management, risk advising, and account development through education, cross-selling, and retention strategies. The Commercial Account Executive partners with producers, underwriters, and internal teams to ensure accounts are well-maintained, compliant, and optimized for growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Retention

  • Maintain strong client retention by delivering proactive, responsive service and building lasting client relationships.
  • Conduct formal account reviews weekly, evaluating coverage gaps, discounts, and opportunities to deepen protection.
  • Manage all client interactions (phone, email, service requests) with professionalism and urgency, ensuring inquiries are answered within 24 hours.
  • Educate clients on policy details and the benefits of the agency’s full suite of offerings.
  • Document all interactions and activities accurately in EPIC, including endorsements, audits, claims guidance, billing, and renewals.

Account Rounding & Revenue Growth

  • Identify cross-sell and account rounding opportunities (e.g., umbrella, cyber, EPLI, equipment, personal lines).
  • Follow up on prior quotes, monoline accounts, and canceled business to recover or expand coverage.
  • Generate referrals from satisfied clients and actively promote the agency’s referral and testimonial program.
  • Support growth goals by proactively suggesting additional commercial or personal insurance coverage where needed.

New Business Support & Onboarding

  • Partner with producers to support quoting, documentation, and carrier communication during onboarding.
  • Conduct audits on new business files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  • Send onboarding materials and confirm all required documentation (applications, payments, signatures) is received and filed.

Carrier & Compliance Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with carrier partners to ensure proper underwriting, endorsements, and binding.
  • Maintain compliance with all agency and carrier documentation standards.
  • Follow agency guidelines for remarketing, including approval, timing, and closing ratio tracking.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate seamlessly with producers and other team members to support client relationships and agency goals.
  • Assist teammates with overflow or backup service needs to ensure consistent client experience.
  • Maintain strong relationships with referral partners and help attract business owners’ personal lines accounts to the agency.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain an organized, efficient workflow through the use of agency technology and standard operating procedures.
  • Consistently seek ways to streamline processes, improve service delivery, and reduce errors or coverage gaps.
  • Follow agency standards for follow-up, documentation, and communication timeliness.
  • Participate in the agency's structured career development path, including ongoing training, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Marketing & Branding Support
