About Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC):
Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is a nonprofit organization serving children and families across Oregon through early education and family support programs. At OCDC, our work has purpose. Every role contributes to creating stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures for children across Oregon.
Position Summary:
Preschool teacher in Preschool Promise Program classroom. Maintains a safe, well-managed, child oriented learning environment. Implements curriculum which demonstrates a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of the children and families. Ensures, supports, and promotes each child's safety, health, and development in cooperation with their parents.
Ensures classroom and related activities correlate with established Agency goals, objectives and work plans, and are in compliance with Oregon Office of Child Care regulations, Child Outcomes Framework, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), USDA, and other applicable rules.
Essential Functions:
• Maintain a safe, well-managed, and engaging Preschool Promise classroom environment
• Plan and implement developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum aligned with program and agency standards
• Create and implement individualized educational and developmental plans for children
• Conduct observations, assessments, and required health and developmental screenings
• Collaborate with families, specialists, and staff to support children with special needs
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians through conferences and ongoing engagement
• Refer families to community resources that support health, mental health, and family well-being
• Maintain accurate classroom records and required program documentation
• Participate in case management meetings and program planning activities
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to classroom staff, apprentices, and volunteers
• Deliver training during pre-service and staff meetings as required
• Promote safe practices, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable regulations
• Respond appropriately to emergencies as a Mandatory First Responder
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
Preschool Promise Teacher C
- $22.42- $24.92 hourly
High school diploma, GED, or Diploma de Education Secundaria or higher
AND
• Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate
Or
• One year Oregon community college certificate1 in field WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on preschool development.
Preschool Promise Teacher A - $23.99- $26.65 hourly
Associate's degree or higher in
• Early childhood education or child development WITH additional training or additional certification in early childhood education
Or
• Any field and coursework equivalent2 to a major relating to early child hood education or child development WITH training or coursework in early childhood development with a focus on preschool development.
Preschool Promise Teacher B -$25.67- $28.52 hourly
Bachelor's degree or higher in
• Early childhood education or child development
Or
• Any field with coursework equivalent3 to a major relating to early childhood education or child development.
