The Opportunity


Abbott Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics (RMDx) - Infectious Disease (ID) is seeking a driven, competitive Associate Sales Development Representative to fuel new business growth. This role is designed for individuals with a true hunter mindset who are eager to build a career in healthcare sales. You will partner closely with the Regional Business Manager to develop core selling skills, including prospecting, account development, and customer engagement, while operating within a structured, metric-driven sales process.


This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in a competitive, performance-based environment and is motivated by winning new business, exceeding targets, and accelerating their sales career. In this role, you will focus on building a strong pipeline, managing opportunities with discipline, and delivering measurable results. High performers will have a clear path to promotion within 12-24 months.


What you'll work on


Proactively prospect using data driven insights to secure new business within assigned territory to drive revenue growth
Identify and aggressively pursue high-value opportunities, prioritizing accounts with strong close potential
Build and expand relationships with key hospital decision-makers to open new sales channels
Qualify and advance deals through the pipeline based on customer needs, timing, and buying process
Develop and execute targeted territory plans focused on new account acquisition and expansion
Maintain a strong, active pipeline and consistently move opportunities toward close
Track pipeline activity, customer interactions, and forecasts in Salesforce with a focus on results and accountability

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 2+ years of sales experience with a proven track record of winning new accounts and exceeding quota
Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and close net-new business in competitive markets
High energy, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in a results driven, quota-carrying environment
Competitive background that demonstrates a strong drive, discipline, and a desire to win (e.g., collegiate athlete, club sports, military, or similar)
Willingness to travel ~50% to actively develop territory, meet prospects, and close business
Preferred Qualifications

B2B sales experience with formal sales training (e.g., Challenger, Miller Heiman, Sandler) with application in real-world sales cycles
Experience using Salesforce.com (or similar CRM) to manage pipeline, track activity, and drive results
Experience selling into complex organizations (e.g., healthcare, enterprise, or multi-stakeholder environments)
Strong prospecting mindset with success in cold outreach, networking, and uncovering new opportunities
Willingness to consider relocation within region for promotional opportunities after 12-24 months
