Role Summary

We’re looking for a proactive, tech-savvy Business Development Associate to help drive pipeline growth at Surgical Solutions. This role focuses on engaging inbound and outbound leads, qualifying opportunities, and partnering closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to convert interest into high-quality sales opportunities.

The ideal candidate is comfortable using AI tools to research, personalize outreach, and improve efficiency, while also being confident and engaging on calls with prospective clients.

This position is based in our Overland Park, KS corporate office, with an expectation to work onsite 3–4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Engagement & Qualification
    • Respond to and qualify inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns and digital initiatives
    • Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other sales engagement platforms
    • Identify key decision-makers, operational challenges, and buying readiness within target accounts
    • Conduct discovery conversations to uncover client needs and align opportunities with Surgical Solutions’ services
  • Pipeline Development
    • Generate qualified meetings and sales opportunities for senior sales leadership
    • Maintain consistent pipeline activity and lead progression within the CRM
    • Accurately document prospect interactions, follow-up actions, and opportunity status
    • Support account targeting and prospecting initiatives within strategic health systems
  • AI-Driven Sales Execution
    • Utilize AI tools and sales technologies to research accounts, personalize outreach, and improve productivity
    • Leverage automation and data insights to optimize outreach cadence, messaging, and engagement rates
    • Participate in testing and refining AI-assisted sales workflows and processes
  • Marketing Collaboration
    • Work closely with Marketing on campaigns, messaging, and lead quality feedback
    • Provide feedback from prospect conversations to help refine messaging, targeting, and content development
    • Support follow-up activities related to conferences, webinars, campaigns, and other marketing initiatives
  • Client Interaction
  • Professionally engage prospective clients through phone and virtual meetings
  • Clearly articulate Surgical Solutions’ value proposition and service offerings
  • Build strong early-stage relationships that convert into meaningful sales conversations and pipeline opportunities

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years in inside sales, business development, or similar pipeline-generation role
  • Strong communication skills — especially on the phone and in live conversations
  • Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
  • Demonstrated comfort using or learning AI tools for sales productivity
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset

Preferred Experience

  • Healthcare, medical device, OR, or sterile processing knowledge
  • Experience working closely with marketing teams
  • Exposure to data-driven or AI-assisted sales environments
  • Familiarity with outbound prospecting tools and sequencing platforms: Hubspot sequencing, Clay, skill based LLM use and Instantly.AI or Smartleads.ai experience preferred
