Job description

Overview

EXPLEO USA is looking for a Special Service Vehicle Accessory Engineer to join a dynamic and expanding team in Troy, Michigan.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will play a key role in driving the design, development, and integration of special service vehicle accessories.

  • Partner with brand planning and strategy teams to develop new feature ideas
  • Conduct initial design and feasibility studies with Electrical, Interior/Exterior Product teams, Vehicle Integration, and Product Design Office
  • Create Source Package documents and support Mopar Purchasing in reviewing technical submissions from suppliers
  • Lead vehicle test and validation activities based on component and vehicle DVP validation plans
  • Host weekly engineering development meetings with suppliers and Mopar team members
  • Track and manage part timing to ensure on-time launch and manage releasing of changes on vehicle systems and components
  • Support component supplier development activities and ensure compliance with design and manufacturing processes
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering or accessory development
  • Wire harness or electrical design experience required
  • Intermediate skills with physical and virtual tools for design and validation
  • Strong understanding of part design processes, manufacturing processes, and material selection
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree
  • Experience with aftermarket special service vehicle conversions or customization
  • Knowledge of Mopar processes and supplier development activities
  • Familiarity with vehicle integration and accessory validation
