Role Description The Fashion Accessories Merchandising / Product Development Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY. This position supports the merchandising and product development teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to final delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with trend and market research, preparing line sheets, updating product and style information, and coordinating samples and approvals with internal teams and external vendors. The Assistant helps track timelines and milestones, organizes product data and merchandising tools, and supports assortment planning and presentation materials for sales meetings and buyer appointments. The role involves close collaboration with design, production, and sales to ensure collections are accurate, on-brand, and delivered on schedule.
Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Product Lifecycle Management and Product Development to support items from concept through production and delivery.
  • Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and Market Research capabilities to evaluate trends, pricing, and competitive assortments.
  • Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Candidates should preferably have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other merchandising tools for data tracking and reporting.
  • Candidates should have strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates should ideally have prior internship or entry-level experience in fashion, accessories, merchandising, or product development.
  • Candidates should have an educational background in Fashion Merchandising, Product Development, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
