We are seeking an Accessibility Specialist – Sitecore/WCAG 2.1 AA to join our team. This role will involve WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility testing and remediation for web content and digital assets within the Sitecore Content Management System. The ideal candidate will have experience in ADA remediation, Sitecore CMS, and accessibility testing tools, along with a strong passion for creating inclusive and accessible digital experiences.


Job Title: Accessibility Specialist – Sitecore / WCAG 2.1 AA
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – onsite from Day 1, two days per week; no remote option)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Job Description:

This position will support the Michigan Department by providing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA testing and remediation for websites and digital content managed through the Sitecore Content Management Solution. The resource will work independently under MDCR direction and prioritization while adhering to e-Michigan web content standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility testing and remediation to ensure ADA compliance
  • Remediate digital content including PDFs, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, and reports
  • Structure documents properly, apply tags, add alt text, and establish logical reading orders
  • Author, design, and maintain content within the Sitecore CMS
  • Utilize accessibility testing tools to validate compliance and identify remediation needs
  • Ensure web solutions conform to State of Michigan (SOM) Look & Feel Standards
  • Collaborate with stakeholders while working independently on assigned priorities
  • Provide clear documentation and communicate findings effectively, both verbally and in writing

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience with ADA remediation
  • 3+ years of experience working with Sitecore Content Management Solution
  • In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA Guidelines
  • Hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools
  • Strong background in digital content accessibility remediation
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Requirements:

  • MS Teams video interview with camera ON
  • Second round may be held in person
  • Candidates must be available for an in-person interview
  • Local candidates only (must reside within 75 miles of Lansing, MI at time of submission)
