Hastings Insurance is currently seeking a Senior Integration Developer that will play a key role in enhancing and supporting the integration of our core Property and Casualty systems. This position blends technical design, hands-on development, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the success of mission-critical software initiatives, including system modernization. It's a highly visible role with opportunities to partner across departments and contribute to long-term architectural solutions.
Location & Schedule:
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role offers flexibility and may be performed onsite in Hastings, in a hybrid format, or fully remote. For remote arrangements, we strongly prefer candidates who reside in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, or Wisconsin, though additional states may be considered based on business needs.
What You'll Do:
  • Design, develop, and deploy complex system integrations that align with business needs.
  • Translate functional requirements into scalable technical design specifications.
  • Program and configure components across integrations, plug-ins, and messaging systems.
  • Collaborate with architecture teams to present solution options and provide effort estimates.
  • Follow established SDLC processes for coding, configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Promote and apply best practices and coding standards to enhance development productivity.
  • Mentor junior developers and assist in their professional growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current on emerging technologies.
What You'll Bring:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on systems integration.
  • Expertise in Microservice Architecture, .NET 8/9, and modern integration frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of client/server and database concepts.
  • Experience working with IDE tools and utilities within a collaborative development environment.
  • Background in Property & Casualty Insurance preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
