Job description

We are seeking an experienced Level II Structured Cabling Technician to support a 5-week infrastructure project in South San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with structured cabling installations, cable rerouting, terminations, testing, labeling, and wireless access point support.

Responsibilities

Reroute existing cable drops from Building 576 IDF room to Building 578 IDF room

Install and route new Cat6A cabling throughout the facility, including:

16 new Cat6A drops on the first floor

30 new Cat6A drops on the second floor

22 additional Cat6A drops across both floors

Terminate, test, and label all installed cabling

Install two Cat6A copper cable connections to a workstation area

Rerun wireless access point (AP) and workstation cabling from IDF racks to field locations using Game Changer cable

Reorient wireless access points in Building 570 to face the north wall

Ensure all cabling installations meet industry standards and project specifications

Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Required Qualifications

Experience as a Level II Cabling Technician or equivalent

Proficiency in Cat6A copper cable installation and routing

Experience with cable termination, testing, troubleshooting, and labeling

Familiarity with IDF/MDF environments

Ability to read and follow project scope and construction drawings

Reliable transportation to the jobsite or designated meeting location

Ability to lift equipment and work in ceilings, ladders, and other construction-related environments

Preferred Qualifications

BICSI certification or equivalent industry training

Experience supporting wireless access point installations and relocations

Previous commercial structured cabling experience
