Summary of Position

The Technician III is an experienced quality control technician who has in-depth experience with Telaid’s clients, as well as knowledge of industry standards and multiple types of industry products and certifications. The technician must be able to help support a QC program that will rely increasingly on relationships with business partners, to provide a consistent, outstanding customer experience. This includes the ability to cross-train technicians and business partners in specific client or product knowledge. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as a lead on site and direct, inspect, and audit technician’s work as needed
  • Assist in training of less experienced technicians in scopes of work and administrative tasks.
  • Take direction and learn from more experienced technicians on jobsites.  
  • Train subcontractors and Telaid technicians on theory and practices for reliable quality installations
  • Perform installation and service work on customer site, based on schedule
  • Provide regular updates (email responses, ticket deliverables) to PMO, Resource Center and Service Center in a timely manner
  • Act as point of escalation for clients; resolve issues where possible, otherwise escalate to FSS and Project Manager as needed
  • Complete administrative job requirements in a timely fashion and maintain company vehicle and tools if assigned. 
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by management.
  • Meet with clients to conduct job walks and submit info for bids/estimates, be able to identify obstacles/hurdles as well as make a materials list for potential new work
  • Skills and Personal Attributes
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.  
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative and problem-solving skills to run field projects with minimum direction 
  • Must have self-control to handle stress and provide exceptional customer service. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task and availability to work outside of normal scheduled work hours and ability to travel to achieve quality and schedule demands required.  

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.  
  • Display proficiency and knowledge in multiple of Telaid’s key accounts
  • A minimum of two years as a Technician Two or equivalent experience is required. 
  • Ability to operate network certifiers
  • Proficient in eight of ten areas of focus: Voice, Data, Fire Alarm, Fiber, Burg Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Digital Signage, Access Points, Networking
  • Must complete and maintain BICSI Installer 2 Copper and BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification.
  • Maintain LIFT and OSHA30 Certifications. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge in key areas as outlined by management.
  • Must complete product specific trainings (CommScope, Leviton, AXIS) as outlined by Telaid.  

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to support Telaid’ s business.  Travel may include working on long-term projects over multiple weeks at a time.  (US only) 
  • Must be able to bend, stoop., climb ladders to reach overhead ceiling areas and lift up to 45 lbs. 
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts based on business needs.
