Job description

Job Title: Access Control Technician II / III - AWS Data Center | Atlanta, GA Area
Location: Atlanta Metro Area, GA
Shift: Day Shift | 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (flex based on project needs)
Start Date: Immediate
About the Opportunity
We are hiring Access Control Technicians (Tech II and Tech III level) to support the deployment of security and low voltage systems within a new AWS Data Center construction project in the Atlanta, GA metro area.
This is a rare opportunity to get on a high-profile, mission-critical data center project with a team that values attitude, communication, and work ethic just as much as technical skill. If you have access control or low voltage experience and are looking for a stable project with room to grow into lead and foreman roles - we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Installing, terminating, and wiring access control systems and associated hardware
  • Pulling, routing, labeling, and dressing low voltage and structured cabling
  • Installing and wiring security devices including:
    • Door contacts and request-to-exit devices
    • Motion detectors and sounder/siren devices
    • Electric strikes and magnetic locks
    • Card readers and optical/security devices
  • Wiring and terminating access control panels, controllers, and boards
  • Installing and supporting structured cabling infrastructure and MDF/head-end room buildouts
  • Mounting, installing, and wiring IP cameras throughout the facility
  • Assigning IP addresses and performing basic camera configuration
  • Performing firmware upgrades and downgrades on security devices as required
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and verifying proper operation of installed systems
  • Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, riser drawings, and installation plans
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and professional installations
  • Coordinating with project leads, PMs, and general contractors
  • Following AWS site requirements, safety protocols, and security procedures
What You Need
  • Experience in access control, security device installation, structured cabling, or low voltage systems
  • Ability to pass all AWS onboarding and background requirements
  • Ability to work safely on an active construction site
  • Reliable transportation to the project site in the Atlanta metro area
  • Standard low voltage hand tools
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow

Note: OSHA 10 will be provided and is required prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with access control systems and field hardware installation
  • Familiarity with MDF/IDF environments
  • Experience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and riser drawings
  • Background in data center, commercial construction, or mission-critical environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot low voltage systems
Highly Desired
  • Experience with Lenel access control systems
  • Hands-on experience with Lenel boards:
    • LNL-3300
    • LNL-1320
    • LNL-1200
    • LNL-1100
  • Access control commissioning experience
  • Leadership or crew lead potential - growth into lead/foreman roles is available
Schedule & Physical Requirements
  • Day shift: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with schedule flex based on project phase
  • Overtime expected as the project ramps up
  • Active construction environment - walking, lifting, ladder work, bending, kneeling, and climbing required
  • PPE provided on site
