Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week oncology assignment. Candidates must have strong experience in radiation oncology treatment delivery, treatment planning systems, and TrueBeam technology. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with adult oncology patients in an acute care or hospital-based setting and must have Epic EMR experience.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely according to physician treatment plans
• Operate TrueBeam linear accelerator equipment and related radiation therapy technology
• Perform patient setup, positioning, immobilization, and tumor localization procedures
• Utilize imaging modalities including CBCT, kV/mV imaging, and B-Mode acquisition targeting for treatment accuracy
• Assist with treatment simulations, custom molds, shields, wedges, compensation filters, and beam modification procedures
• Review and verify treatment plans using Pinnacle (Philips) and Eclipse (Varian) systems
• Monitor patients during treatment and respond appropriately to patient condition changes or emergency situations
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety protocols, infection prevention standards, and departmental policies
• Document treatments accurately in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and interdisciplinary oncology teams
Key Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years recent Radiation Therapist experience required
• TrueBeam experience REQUIRED
• Epic EMR experience REQUIRED
• ARRT(T) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Associate Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program required
• Manager interview required
• Candidate subject to clinical prescreening prior to manager review
• Maximum RTO allowed: 7 days
• No weekends or call requirements
• Must be comfortable caring for COVID-positive patients
• Tobacco-free and fragrance-free facility policy strictly enforced
Qualifications
Education:
• Associate Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology Program required
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years recent Radiation Therapist experience required
• Acute care and/or hospital-based oncology experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with external beam therapy, IMRT, treatment planning systems, and advanced imaging required
• Experience with TrueBeam linear accelerator technology required
License:
• ARRT(T) certification required
• BLS certification required
