About The Role

You will play a pivotal role in driving large-scale migration, conversion, and modernization initiatives for one of our major insurance clients. You will serve as a trusted advisor, collaborating directly with stakeholders to analyze business needs, define requirements, and design robust solutions that align with their digital transformation strategies.

This role demands deep expertise in life insurance, particularly Universal Life and Traditional Life products, along with a strong background in Vantage/wmA (Wealth Management Accelerator). Strong expertise sought in mainframe application development, system enhancement, and legacy modernization with skills in COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, Easytrieve, CICS, STORED Procedures, SQL, REXX and data integration. You will be responsible for conducting gap analysis, leading complex conversions, and ensuring seamless integrations across legacy and modern platforms.

What Youll Do

  • Support a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions, providing guidance, code reviews, and technical support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of software projects.

  • Assist in the professional growth and mentorship of team members through regular feedback, coaching, and career development planning.

  • Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, participating in strategic discussions and technology assessments.

  • Manage project tasks and assignments, helping to prioritize and plan work to meet project goals.

  • Monitor project timelines, resource allocation, and budgets to ensure efficient project execution.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, working to resolve issues as they arise.

  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.


Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role year of experience in software engineering

  • Proficiency in 1 or more software languages and development methodologies

  • Strong programming and debugging skills

  • Some prior experience in leadership or mentoring capacity

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a leadership role

  • Strong organizational and time management skills


Other Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field is a plus

  • Relevant certifications or training a plus

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $84,400 - $156,800.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
