Job description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Communications Manager to join our Brand and Communications team supporting internal and external communications for the Process Technology business. This role will develop and execute internal communication programs that inform, engage, and inspire employees across the organization and support external communications alignment and initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and trusted advisor with experience driving communications that support business priorities, leadership visibility, culture initiatives, organizational change, and employee engagement. This individual will work closely with business leaders, Human Resources, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful communications that connect employees to the company's strategy, goals, and values.

You will report directly to our Sr Director of Process Technology Communications and you'll work out of our Charlotte, NC location on a Hybrid work schedule.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 7+ years of communications experience with a strong emphasis on internal communications, employee engagement and executive communications.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communication plans for large organizations or business units.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and developing executive-level communications.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

WE VALUE

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with digital communication platforms, intranet tools, and content management systems.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Experience measuring communication effectiveness and applying insights to improve engagement.
  • Media relations experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, technology, energy, or engineering-focused organizations is a plus.

Internal Communications Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies aligned with business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Create engaging communication plans and campaigns to support leadership initiatives, organizational changes, employee engagement efforts, and key business milestones.
  • Serve as a strategic communications partner to business leaders and functional stakeholders.

Content Development & Storytelling

  • Develop high-quality content for a variety of internal and external channels, including leadership messages, executive talking points, website content, town halls, videos, and organizational announcements.
  • Translate complex business and technical information into clear and compelling messaging.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and brand voice across all communications.

Leadership & Executive Communications

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop communication strategies that enhance transparency, alignment, and employee understanding of business priorities.
  • Draft executive communications, presentations, speeches, and key messages for leadership engagements.
  • Support events and forums that facilitate leadership visibility and engagement.

Channel Management & Measurement

  • Manage and optimize communication channels to ensure timely, effective, and engaging delivery of information.
  • Monitor communication effectiveness and engagement metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on communication trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Brand, Marketing, HR, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency across communication activities.
  • Support broader communications initiatives and enterprise campaigns as needed.

Media Relations (Preferred)

  • Support external communications efforts and media opportunities when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with communications team members on media inquiries, thought leadership content, and external storytelling initiatives.
