Job description

Position Location: Langley AFB, VA (On-Site) Telework/Work-from-Home Authorized: Yes - Only When Authorized About the Role: Provide part-time Contingency Advisory Support to the Operations Division, Aviation Scheduling Branch (ACC/A3O8), responsible for the Combat Air Forces (CAF) Integrated Scheduling Process and implementing the Chief of Staff for the Air Force (CSAF) directed Air Force Generation (AFFORGEN) model.

This scheduling process supports CAF units tasked to worldwide contingency operations and higher headquarters directed exercises using the Department of Defense Global Force Management (GFM) and the United States Air Force (USAF) Air and Space Expeditionary Force (AEF) construct. The output from these knowledge-based services shall take the form of information, advice, alternatives, analyses, evaluations, recommendations, scheduling, training, and other support as needed to complement the Government's technical expertise. The Contingency Advisor conducts/participates in Operational Plan reviews in conjunction with Joint Contingency Capability Assessments (JCCAs) and provides senior level advisory support in the scheduling of CAF forces for worldwide contingency operations through the GFM and AEF construct.

Tasks include, but are not limited to: Conduct studies to support scheduling the AEF for various contingency and operational training events, align AEF units to most effectively support contingencies, exercises, training events, and other aerial events. Assist with the completion of Joint Contingency Sourcing Exercises, JCCA, and TRANSCOM Operation-Logistics analysis to evaluate Combatant Command OPLAN effectiveness and feasibility. Coordinate with other Combatant Commands to review OPLANs to ensure correct sourcing information.

Sourcing information includes Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning Execution System (DCAPES) records, unit Identification Codes (UICs), basing decisions, aircraft amounts and required capabilities. Provide senior level advisory support to ACC/A3O. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Provide general personnel support as requested which may include, but is not limited to: Participate in meetings, progress reviews, integrated teams, working groups, etc.

Draft, edit, and/or review a variety of material for correspondence and documentation, primarily using Microsoft Office applications. Provide information management, records management, scheduling functions, meeting/conference support, etc. Prepare briefing/training materials and present briefings/trainings.

Liaise and coordinate with personnel at all levels inside and outside the organization. Provide awareness of new/evolving requirements and recommendations to integrate them. Provide support for planning, programming, tracking and financial execution.

Perform other duties, as assigned. Experience Requirements: Either: Five years of HQ staff experience in AF Fighter/Bomber operations at or above the MAJCOM level, OR Five years of AF strategic planning experience on a HQ staff at or above the MAJCOM level Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements: Graduate from a DoD Pilot, Navigator, or Air Battle Manager training course Other Required Skills & Abilities: Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
