What are Acats?

An ACAT, or Automated Customer Account Transfer, refers to a system used by financial institutions to transfer securities from one brokerage account to another. The ACAT system streamlines the process, making it faster and more efficient for clients to move their investment portfolios between firms. This process typically takes between 3 to 6 business days, depending on the assets and institutions involved. ACATs are commonly used when clients wish to switch brokers or consolidate their investment accounts.

To overcome this, successful Acats develop strong interpersonal skills and use project management tools to maintain transparency and keep everyone on the same page. Proactively scheduling regular check-ins and fostering open communication can significantly improve collaboration and project outcomes.
