We are seeking a Director of Education who will serve as the principal staff partner to the Vice Dean for Education, translating the Vice Dean's strategic priorities into day-to-day operational and administrative leadership across the School's academic programs. Reporting to the Vice Dean, the Director manages curriculum administration, new program development, teaching and learning support, accreditation and assessment processes, and faculty governance support. As a seasoned academic affairs leader, the Director also exercises independent judgment on academic policy matters, supervises academic affairs staff, and serves as a key point of contact for faculty and students on academic policies and procedures.

This initiative aims to serve society, train the next generation of public servants, drive data-informed government innovation, and confront the complex challenges facing today's policymakers. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Curriculum and Academic Program Administration Manages day-to-day curriculum administration, degree program planning, and academic policy execution for all degree and certificate programs, in support of priorities established by the Vice Dean for Education.

Coordinates the development and launch of new degree, certificate, and non-degree programs on behalf of the Vice Dean, including commissioning market research studies, facilitating discussions with internal and external constituents, and recruiting instructors. Strategic Program Planning and Partnerships Support Supports the Vice Dean's evaluation of partnership opportunities, including dual degrees, certificates, and collaborative initiatives, by conducting due diligence and preparing recommendations. Tracks trends in policy education, workforce needs, and the competitive landscape to inform the Vice Dean's program development priorities.

Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Support Manages the mid-term and end-of-term course evaluation process, including examining questionnaires for revision, reviewing results, and running vendor searches, in support of the Vice Dean's teaching and learning quality standards. Supports the implementation of pedagogical innovation, new instructional modalities, and educational technologies identified by the Vice Dean. Coordinates day-to-day accreditation compliance activities, including documentation, timelines, and liaison with academic units, and administers assessment frameworks that track program quality and student learning outcomes on behalf of the Vice Dean.

Academic Policy Support Serves as the Academic Integrity Officer for the programs, including managing records of academic misconduct and overseeing hearing panels. Staffs faculty governance bodies and supports the development, review, and administration of academic policies under the Vice Dean's direction. Organizational Support Gathers data and prepares analysis on organizational structure options and peer institution models to inform the Vice Dean's recommendations.

Conducts regular analysis on issues such as tuition rates and instructor salary rates. Represents the Vice Dean and the academic affairs function at university-wide meetings and forums as needed. Supervises staff within the Academic Affairs function.

Performs other related duties as requested by the Vice Dean for Education. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree required. At least five years of project management experience in support of academic, business, research and/or development activities.

Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications PhD in related field. Experience with post-secondary online education.

Experience with post-secondary academic affairs. Experience providing high-level administrative and analytical support to senior academic leadership (e.g., a dean, vice dean, or provost's office).
