Open Rank Faculty Position in Infectious Diseases
The George Washington Medical Faculty Associates (MFA), an independent non-profit academic clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences, is seeking a full-time academic Infectious Disease physician for its Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine.
The Division of Infectious Diseases sees a diverse patient population with a broad range of infectious diseases. Its primary research focus has long been HIV/AIDS, with involvement in studies on both HIV prevention as a clinical research site for the HIV Prevention Trials Network, and HIV treatment through multiple industry-sponsored trials. The Division is also heavily involved in vaccine research as part of the Project NextGen COVID-19 Initiative, as well as vaccine research for HIV, RSV, Ebola, Marburg, Influenza, C. difficile, and mpox.
This non-tenure-track faculty appointment, expected to start as early as Fall 2025, will be made at a rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor) and salary commensurate with experience.
The physician will be integrated into all aspects of the Division of Infectious Diseases, including attending on the inpatient consult service at George Washington University Hospital and Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, staffing the outpatient Infectious Diseases clinic, teaching medical students, residents, and Infectious Diseases fellows, and collaborating in the research programs of the Division.
Applicants must be board-certified or eligible in Infectious Diseases and must be licensed in the District of Columbia at the time of appointment.
Advertised Salary: $157,500.00 to $210,000.00
