Job description

Academic Infectious Disease Physician

When you join us, you'll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of "helping people live the healthiest lives possible."

About this role:

As an Academic Infectious Disease Physician, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.

You will provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients at LDS Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center (0.70 FTE). This includes direct infectious diseases-related care for patients before and after solid organ transplant, patients with hematologic and solid malignancies, patients with general infectious diseases, and patients living with HIV.

Conduct research and lead quality improvement projects focused on infectious diseases and microbiology that align with Intermountain Health's priority to serve current and future patients with science (0.30 FTE).

Obtain and retain an academic appointment with Intermountain Health in the Clinical Investigator Track. Academic rank will be determined based on experience. As an investigator you will be expected to publish your research, seek funding, and work towards promotion.

Teach University of Utah Infectious Diseases fellows, University of Utah and Intermountain Health residents, and medical students during inpatient consultation services.

What you'll bring:

MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine

Residency training in Internal Medicine

Fellowship training in Infectious Disease

Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Disease

Experience and demonstrated scholarly interest in infectious diseases.

Excellent communication skills and strong teaching ability.

Ability and desire to support the quality improvement, teaching, and research activities of the Infectious Diseases Division and Intermountain Health.

Experience or additional training in transplant/Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases.

Candidates with demonstrated research success with peer-reviewed publications, extramural funding, and invited lectures preferred.

Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one

Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
