Job description

Psychiatrist – Consultation-Liaison | Academic Track

Minneapolis, Minnesota | Full-Time

The University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for an Academic Track Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.

Position Highlights

  • Approximately 90% clinical / 10% academic effort
  • Inpatient Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at University of Minnesota Medical Center
  • Provide psychiatric consultations to medical and surgical services
  • Combination of in-person and virtual consultations
  • Potential telemedicine coverage for hospitals throughout the M Health Fairview system
  • See approximately 6–8 patients per clinical day
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, licensed mental health professionals, and other healthcare providers
  • Participate in coordinating team coverage schedules
  • Academic activities may include research, publishing, teaching, mentoring, quality improvement, grand rounds, committees, and other scholarly work

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Psychiatry Residency
  • Completion of a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • Eligible for or able to obtain a Minnesota medical license and DEA registration
  • Meet credentialing and hospital privileging requirements
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain U.S. work authorization

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $224,256–$310,002, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and clinical effort
  • Additional academic compensation based on academic effort
  • Salary is based on AAMC market benchmarks

This position is jointly supported by the University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota and offers an opportunity to combine clinical Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry with teaching, research, and academic development.
