Job description

New Tech Global is currently seeking a Foundry Technician in Tulsa, OK.
Overview
  • Safely operate large power equipment and machine tools
  • Core making - form the internal surfaces of castings.
  • Mold making - form the external surfaces of castings.
  • Mold closing - assemble cores and molds into complete mold assemblies.
  • Melting - prepare molten metal from scrap steel/raw materials, adjust chemistry and temperature.
  • Pouring - transfer molten metal into mold cavities.
  • Shakeout - remove core and mold sand from castings and reclaim sand.
  • Casting cleaning - remove gates, risers, fins, and surface defects; abrasive blast surfaces; inspect and repair castings.
  • Operate equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, and loaders as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Comply with allCompany and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Support casting operations across various foundry departments.
  • Assist with sand reclamation, pattern storage, and casting touch-ups as needed.
  • Actively contribute to safe and efficient daily operations.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in 2 or more of the following: pattern shop/storage; core making; molding making; mold closing; induction melting; pouring; shakeout; abrasive blasting; gating & riser removal; grinding; casting inspection and touch-up preferred. On-the-job training is available.
  • 1+ years of experience operating forklift; overhead crane; frontend loader preferred.
  • Must have corrected vision to 20/20.
  • Willingness to work in environments with extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and moving equipment.
  • Must possess general knowledge of industrial applications in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must possess general knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Required to wear PPE, including a hard hat, gloves, face mask, and steel-toed boots.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.
  • Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Factory environment with a large range of temperature changes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods of time.
