We machine critical components for turbine engines used in the defense, aerospace, and energy industries. Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding. We need skilled, committed employees who are excited to be a part of and drive company growth towards our mission!

The Driver-Material Handler is highly organized and critical role to ensure accurate movement of designated materials in support of business needs. Drives company truck or van to provide services, or delivery of designated materials to meet customers needs as schedule dictates. The role partners closely with the Shipping & Receiving department and the other Driver as well as communicates regularly with other departments including operations, inventory control, and material handling. A successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Driver

  • Safely drives company truck or van to provide services, or delivery of designated materials to designated location(s) according to a schedule or supervisor direction.
  • Assures timely delivery daily.
  • Loads and unloads truck at beginning and end of trip in designated drop location.
  • Handles loads to minimize damage to freight.
  • Assures accuracy and completion of any/all required paperwork.
  • Ensures the service of vehicle driven, such as checking fluid levels, notifying supervisor of any potential problems and replenishing fuel.
  • Forklift Experience – ability to safely operate company forklifts and pass video and practical tests.
  • Assists with any shipping and receiving functions as assigned by supervisor.
  • Pass and maintain a safe driving record, including MVR check; abides by all road regulations and laws.
  • Obtains and maintains valid Driver's Licenses required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Material Handler

  • Collaborates with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.
  • Verifies the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
  • Identify and locate the right products during the delivery process.
  • Handles returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working in aerospace or other manufacturing industry, preferred.
  • Previous driver experience preferred.
  • Certification in forklift operation.
  • Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery.
  • Data entry, math and computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Able to read job specifications and follow directions as needed.
  • Diligent in taking the time to document non-conforming parts 100% of the time.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as caliper, micrometer, gages is preferred.
  • Must be able to follow directions and maintain documentation as needed for each job.
Physical Demands
  • Talking, hearing, and using hands to operate machining equipment.
  • Ability to maneuver and hold parts at or above waist height while performing the work.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25lbs frequently and on occasion up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to work on your feet in a manufacturing environment.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent lifting, twisting, standing, stooping, and bending.
Working Environment

Usual manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
