ABO Certified Optician

Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center | Clarksburg, WV

AllMed Staffing is seeking an experienced ABO Certified Optician to provide onsite services at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia. This role supports the VA Eye Clinic by delivering high-quality optical dispensing services to our nation's veterans.

Position Overview

  • Location: Clarksburg, WV
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Contract Assignment
  • No Nights
  • No Weekends
  • Federal Holidays Off

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterans with eyewear selection and fitting
  • Measure pupillary distance and segment heights
  • Verify and dispense eyeglass prescriptions
  • Perform frame adjustments and minor repairs
  • Educate patients on proper eyewear use and maintenance
  • Document services in VA electronic health record systems
  • Maintain compliance with VA policies and HIPAA requirements
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and patient support

Required Qualifications

  • Current American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of optician experience
  • Strong knowledge of optical dispensing procedures
  • Experience measuring, fitting, and adjusting eyewear
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation and credentialing process
