Job description

Part-Time Lifeguard - Coomes Recreation Center

The Town of Abingdon, Virginia, is accepting applications for a part-time Lifeguard. The lifeguard will handle all safety and emergent situations through preventative education for all participants. They will also provide aquatic/facility information regarding activities provided at the center. Duties will also include the managing pool areas, cleanliness of pool and locker room areas, and communicating with staff in all areas of the center to ensure positive customer experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
  • Knowledge of cleaning and pool maintenance
  • At least one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Must possess a high level of organization and accuracy; have a pleasant personality, yet be able to remain calm and helpful in stressful situations.
