Position Overview
Calvary Christian Academy (CCA), a ministry of Calvary Christian Center, is committed to pursuing academic excellence with eternity in mind. Our mission is to equip students both academically and spiritually, raising up Christ-centered leaders who are prepared to fulfill God's purpose for their lives.
The Teacher serves as both an educator and spiritual mentor, responsible for instructing and discipling students in alignment with the CCA Curriculum Framework, Christian curriculum standards (FLOCS, BJU, Abeka, etc.), and applicable Florida Department of Education guidelines.
This role requires a commitment to teaching according to the individual educational needs, abilities, and God-given potential of each student, while also providing spiritual guidance grounded in sound Biblical doctrine. The Teacher is expected to model Christ-like character, integrate faith into daily instruction, and actively contribute to the spiritual culture and mission of Calvary Christian Academy and Calvary Christian Center.
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated educators who feel called to Christian education and are committed to discipling students through both instruction and example for the following grades:
  • Middle School Teacher - Math
  • Middle School Teacher - Science
  • Intermediate Teacher

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with CCA curriculum standards; maintain clear and accessible lesson plans.
  • Teach and disciple students in a manner that supports both their academic achievement and spiritual growth.
  • Assess, record, and communicate student progress, behavior, and achievement in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assign, review, and provide meaningful feedback on student work within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Utilize student assessment tools (MAP, iReady, etc.) to inform instruction and monitor progress.
  • Promote the overall well-being of students by providing Christ-centered guidance in academic, social, and spiritual matters.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment that supports effective learning.
  • Collaborate with administration, staff, parents, and support personnel to ensure student success, including participation in student support plans and conferences when needed.
  • Participate in curriculum development, school initiatives, staff meetings, and required professional development, including FLOCS training.
  • Support and mentor new teachers, volunteers, and peers as directed by administration.
  • Demonstrate good stewardship of classroom materials and school resources.
  • Actively participate in school spiritual life, including chapels, assemblies, and ministry opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance.
  • Participate in required school and ministry events, including but not limited to Orientation, Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, school programs, graduation, and assigned Calvary Christian Center events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by administration.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current teaching certification required; candidates without certification must obtain it within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
  • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to integrate faith and learning in a classroom setting.
  • Proficiency in basic technology and educational tools.

  • Must be an active member of a Bible-believing church
  • Must successfully complete a Level 2 background & drug screening
  • Must demonstrate a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must maintain a lifestyle consistent with Biblical standards as outlined by the school and church
