Position Summary:The Bartender / Mixologist is responsible for delivering an elevated bar experience through expertly crafted cocktails, polished service, and genuine guest engagement. This role supports The Abbey Inn & Spa's refined, destination-driven beverage program by blending technical skill, storytelling, and hospitality. Bartending & Mixology DutiesPrepare and serve high-end cocktails, classic spirits, wine, and beer with consistency, precision, and creativityDeliver warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service, ensuring an exceptional guest experience at the barEngage guests with confidence by explaining cocktail concepts, spirits, and ingredients while tailoring recommendations to individual preferencesExecute opening and closing duties, including mise en place, restocking, inventory awareness, and proper storageMaintain a clean, organized, and professional bar environment in accordance with brand and safety standardsCollaborate with bar leadership on menu execution, seasonal offerings, tastings, and special eventsAdhere to all safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelinesSupport overall Food & Beverage operations as needed to ensure seamless serviceOperate POS systems, inventory management software, and other required platforms with accuracy and efficiencyExperience & Education: Proven experience as a bartender or mixologist in an upscale bar, restaurant, hotel, or cocktail-focused environmentStrong knowledge of classic cocktails, modern mixology techniques, spirits, wine, and beerPOS and other operational platform experience preferredExcellent guest service and communication skills with a polished, calm, and professional demeanorAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detailPassion for hospitality, craftsmanship, and continuous learningFlexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight as requiredAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as required for stocking and service dutiesAbility to bend, reach, twist, and move quickly during busy periodsCapable of performing repetitive motions associated with mixing, pouring, and cleaning
