Position Summary

This role requires a hands-on engineer who can take projects from concept through design, manufacturing, and final implementation, while collaborating closely with customers, sales, and shop personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with sales and customers to understand application requirements and develop effective mechanical solutions
  • Design and engineer custom equipment and systems to solve complex technical challenges
  • Create detailed 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks
  • Develop complete drawing packages for manufacturing, including BOMs and fabrication details
  • Manage projects from initial concept through final build and implementation
  • Provide hands-on support during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting in the shop
  • Assist in evaluating and improving designs for manufacturability and performance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and design processes
  • Support and potentially develop skills in robotic integration, including ABB robot programming
  • Experience with GD&T to interpret, apply, and communicate engineering design intent on drawings
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (or higher)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant mechanical design experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and drafting)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes
  • Hands-on shop or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with customers
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing custom machinery or automated systems
  • Familiarity with robotics or automation systems
  • Interest or experience in programming industrial robots (ABB experience a plus)
