This Position reports to:
Product Engineering & Quality Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will focus on ensuring high product reliability through root cause analysis, collaborative testing, and continuous quality improvement. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support both current and next-generation drive products.
The work model for the role is: #LI - Onsite
This role is contributing to the Motion High Power Division in New Berlin, WI area.
You will be mainly accountable to:
  • Support the Center of Excellence (CoE) team with field failure analysis, including drive product data evaluation, understanding customer applications, and proposing additional field measurements.
  • Collaborate with the Product Responsible Unit (PRU) and technical specialists to investigate the root causes of failures.
  • Define and direct testing procedures to validate designs, qualify critical components, and verify compliance with regulatory and agency standards.
  • Lead quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives across product lines.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, failure analysis, or a related role-preferably in the drives or power electronics industry.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys, RCA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Travel - requirement - 5 - 10%
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
