Description
Summary:The Department of Management, Marketing, and Logistics in the College of Business and Public Affairs at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU), an AACSB-accredited institution, invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) position. Rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications. The anticipated start date is 08/2025.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, research, and service. We are seeking a scholar with strong research potential and a passion for preparing students in emerging areas of MIS, business analytics, and cybersecurity.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct independent, high-impact research in MIS, with the potential for publications in top-tier journals (e.g., FT50).
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in MIS, with potential assignments including business analytics, cybersecurity, and other MIS-related topics.
  • Develop and revise course content to align with current trends in technology and business.
  • Effectively use Blackboard or other learning management systems to support course delivery.
  • Participate in service activities at the departmental, college, and university levels.

Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
  • Ph.D., DBA or ABD in MIS, business analytics, cybersecurity, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution (Ph.D. must be completed by the start date).
