Job description

The House Project is seeking an experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to serve as a school-based consultant under a contract with Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS). In this role, you will provide on-site behavioral consultation, staff coaching, and systems-level support in a designated elementary school classroom. The primary goal is to stabilize student behavior and increase access to instruction for students with significant behavioral needs.

This is a contractor position compensated at $75 per hour. Work will be performed primarily on-site at the assigned school location within Anne Arundel County.

Responsibilities

Safety & Behavior Systems Development

•       Design, train staff on, and monitor implementation of behavior-support systems focused on student safety, self-regulation, and access to instruction

•       Develop individualized and classroom-wide support strategies for students with significant behavioral needs

Classroom Structure & Environmental Support

•       Support classroom organization, routines, and scheduling to improve instructional flow and reduce behavioral escalation

•       Ensure appropriate environmental and structural supports are in place for a classroom serving students with varying needs

Staff Training, Modeling & Coaching

•       Provide direct training, modeling, and coaching to the assigned teacher and teaching assistant

•       Build staff capacity for consistent implementation of behavior strategies, data collection, and classroom systems

•       Utilize existing school templates and documentation systems when available

Behavioral Data & System Review

•       Review existing behavioral data, classroom documentation, and intervention plans

•       Identify gaps and inconsistencies across settings and make data-informed recommendations for improvement

Collaboration & Communication

•       Maintain regular communication with designated school leadership and classroom staff

•       Align on expectations, roles, reporting structures, and decision-making authority

•       Identify a direct supervisor within the school and ensure clarity around project scope and deliverables

Program Growth & Sustainability Consultation

•       Provide guidance on long-term program development, staffing considerations, and material needs

•       Support system refinement in alignment with school-determined budget and staffing policies

Required Qualifications

•       Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing

•       Experience providing behavioral consultation in a school or educational setting

•       Demonstrated ability to train and coach teachers and paraprofessionals in behavioral strategies

•       Strong skills in behavioral data collection, analysis, and reporting

•       Ability to work collaboratively with diverse school teams

•       Must pass a criminal background check and sex offender screening in compliance with Maryland law and AACPS requirements

•       Must be eligible to work on AACPS school grounds (no disqualifying offenses per Maryland Education Article §6-113)

Preferred Qualifications

•       Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder and/or significant emotional and behavioral disabilities

•       Familiarity with AACPS or other Maryland public school systems

•       Experience with classroom-level systems design and sustainability planning

•       Knowledge of FERPA, IDEA, and applicable data privacy requirements
