Description
We are seeking an AWS Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (RDS & EC2), AWS cloud architecture, and enterprise ERP infrastructure. This role will be responsible for architecting, optimizing, and supporting the AWS infrastructure that underpins our Deltek Vantagepoint environment and related business-critical systems.
Direct experience supporting Deltek Vantagepoint (or Deltek Vision) within an AWS-hosted environment is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) organizations utilizing Deltek as their core ERP platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Infrastructure: Architect and manage production Microsoft SQL Server deployments on AWS RDS and native EC2 instances.
  • Deltek Environment Support: Maintain and optimize AWS infrastructure supporting Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Vision, and related reporting platforms (SSRS).
  • ERP Middleware Support: Maintain AWS platform integrations supporting Deltek Vantagepoint, third-party HRIS systems, SQL automations, and enterprise workflows.
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Design and implement database backup, point-in-time recovery, high availability, and multi-region disaster recovery solutions.
  • Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot infrastructure bottlenecks, optimize storage and database performance, and right-size AWS resources to improve efficiency and control costs.
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise security standards across AWS, including IAM, network segmentation, encryption, access controls, and monitoring.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate technical documentation for AWS architecture, database environments, integrations, security controls, and standard operating procedures.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
AWS & Cloud Infrastructure:
  • 5+ years of experience managing AWS services, including: 
    • EC2
    • RDS
    • VPC
    • Route53
    • IAM
    • CloudWatch
    • SNS
  • 1+ years of experience developing or supporting serverless AWS services, including Lambda and Step Functions.
Deltek ERP Experience (Required): 
  • 2+ years of direct experience supporting Deltek Vantagepoint or advanced Deltek Vision environments.
  • Experience administering AWS infrastructure supporting Deltek ERP applications and databases.
  • Working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint architecture, application dependencies, integrations, reporting infrastructure, and database schemas.
  • Experience supporting Deltek environments within AEC industry organizations strongly preferred.
Microsoft SQL Server:
  • Advanced SQL Server administration experience within AWS environments.
  • Experience managing SQL Server on both RDS and EC2.
  • Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and high-availability design.
Reporting and Integrations: 
  • Direct experience architecting or supporting SSRS environments.
  • Experience supporting ERP-related integrations, middleware, APIs, and automated data workflows.
Operating Systems: 
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience in AWS-hosted enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate, AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer Associate, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
  • Experience developing data transformation and automation solutions using Python.
  • PCED Certified Entry-Level Data Analyst with Python (or higher certification).
  • Experience supporting Deltek implementations, upgrades, migrations, or cloud transformation.
