Job Summary and Qualifications

Coordinates monthly closes by ensuring all the necessary data has been submitted timely and accurately.

Trains and supports the accounting staff.

Prepare journal entries assigned as per the standard JE list for all entities.

Performs and/or assists with special projects as assigned.

Assists in preparation of cost reporting information for year-end settlement.

Prepare monthly closing entries per the hospital’s closing by the CFO.

Provide financial information and support to Department Manager’s as required

Responsible for the daily operations of the accountants and accounts payable personnel.

Maintains records in accordance with departmental filing and coding system.

Serves as first support to all hospital departments.

Serves as intermediary between accounting and centralized service centers.

Responsible for the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts monthly.

Assist the Controller in completing year-end work papers, Medicare cost report papers, and other

year end and interim financial reports.

 Assists with SOX requirements to ensure compliance

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree​ ​Accounting or Finance – Required

​​Master's degree​ ​Business Administration in Accounting or Finance​ – Preferred

3+ years of experience in​ ​Accounting​ – Required

5+ years of experience in​ ​Accounting with 1-2 years’ experience supervising accountants preferably in a healthcare setting​ – Preferred

​​Certified Public Accountant​ - Preferred
