Job description

PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Sales Relief Representative you will focus maintenance of current accounts and relationships in our San Jose office. Responsibilities include filling in for other Sales Representatives and maintenance of their routes. Pitco provides training, product knowledge and development of our company sales process.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Professionally promote the company's products and services.
  • Represent company in professional manner including dress, and sales knowledge.
  • Following a pre-established CDR route system, visit all stores, take orders, recommend product, and introduce new items.
  • Ensures all mixed orders are of $3,000.00 value or more, tobacco orders only are $3,000.00 minimum and non-tobacco orders are $1,500.00 minimum.
  • Collection of A/R, ensuring money drops a minimum of 3 times a week.
  • Issue credits for returns and damaged goods.
  • Must follow all company price adjustment guidelines and seek management approvals for offering a price other than that which has been pre-established.
  • Report in by 5:00pm all order, ensuring that each is complete and contains all accurate information.
  • Utilizing bar code reading device and company issued sales book, create order, transmit order, call order in, and verify order.
  • The Salesperson is responsible for weekly verification of their sales book to check against discontinued items and make necessary adjustments.
  • Bring to the attention of management any discontinues items which would disrupt the customers business, making recommendations on potential items for substitution.
  • Develop and deliver informative sales presentations based on individual customer needs to maximize market share.
  • Monthly reporting of expenses other than their gas allowance, and
  • Accurately complete routine reports and be compliant with company guidelines.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned, including supporting Company initiatives.
  • Uses sound judgment and makes good decisions in a timely manner.
