Job description

We are a Birmingham, Alabama-based healthcare management company in search of an In-office Healthcare Client Account Representative. The Client Account Representative is part of the RCM team, and their duties may include one or more of the following: medical billing, claims processing, processing insurance payments, following up on denied claims, resolving credit balances, and customer service skills. THIS IS AN IN-OFFICE POSITION.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Processes the insurance component of a patient's obligation through claims processing and payment rules.
  • Bills claims appropriately.
  • Follows up on denied claims by performing appeals and denial recovery procedures.
  • Works denied claim lines and no response claims to resolve outstanding accounts.
  • Analyzes credit balances on patient accounts and resolves.
  • Insurance verification.
  • Experience using Medisys and/or Therabill.
  • Responds to refund request letters from insurance carriers.
  • Notify the supervisor of any problem accounts, CPT codes being denied by specific insurance companies, continued errors in charges, and any other hindrance to their productivity or collection of A/R.
  • Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance.
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Demographic Processing.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service through phone calls and emails.
  • High level of time management and organizational skills.
  • End-of-the-month report generation and list of all accounts not worked.

EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Associate degree (Preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
  • At least five years of experience preferred.
  • Medical background or previous insurance billing desired.
  • Experience using Medisys preferred.
  • Experience using Therabill preferred.
  • Experience with workers' compensation preferred.
