This position is responsible for:Leads children's activities at a day camp including classroom training, tutoring, sports activities, bible study, computer programs and specialized programs; prepares and serves children lunch and snacks; assists in leading field trips; maintains the cleanliness of the camp area.
Key Responsibilities: - Provides constant care of the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner
- Determines appropriate supplies and materials for lesson plans and recreational activities; ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same;
- Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during children mealtime encouraging conversation;
- Exhibits control of the children and when needed displays proper discipline technique
- Assists in leading children on field trips; including Driving.
- Ensures the accountability, security, and safety of children participating in camp activities and field trips; reports all accidents to the supervisor in an accurate and timely manner.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are performed in a classroom, gym, and outdoor settings. Sitting, walking, and standing are required. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs) 5-10% of work time. Work requires working indoors and outdoors daily with exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
Education and Experience: - High School Diploma or G.E. D.
- Two (2) years' experience teaching child development programs in a church or school, OR
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:Valid State Driver's License
C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
