The Critical Facility Technician – Electrical Lead serves as the lead electrical journeyperson , providing technical leadership and guidance while working alongside onsite Critical Facility Engineers. The Electrical Lead is responsible for ensuring the overall reliability, performance, and operational health of all critical electrical infrastructure within the data center environment. This includes oversight of electrical system installation, acceptance testing, and advanced technical support for site operations. The Electrical Lead leverages extensive hands‑on experience to install electrical systems, mentor, train, and develop technical staff, ensuring technicians possess the skills necessary to safely diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electrical system issues.

  • Work with C o n s truct i on t e ams to e n sure the r elia b ili t y and maintai n ability of ne w and m o dif i ed installat i ons. En s ure new l y built s ys t ems m e et design in t ent and per f o r m without issue duri n g the f a cil i ty ac c eptance testing pha s es. R e view c onstruct i on eq u i p m en t submittals, c ommiss i oning pla n s and identify p ote n tial deficienci e s.
  • Responsible for conducting and/or o ver s eei n g pr e ven t ative m ai n tenance o n r eg u lar e l ectrical sy st e ms and p eriodic testing of t h e equi pm ent
  • Utilize established programs and procedures to maximize equipment operability and efficie n c y whi l e minimizing life c ycle c o s ts.
  • Understand potential equi p ment f ai lu res and p r ovide full tech n ical support to Operations te a ms in t h e e vent of a crit i cal s y s t e m failure.
  • Perform Root-Cause Failure Analysis and facilita t e c o r rect i ve a c tion.
  • Provide at request guidance and technical support to Facility Operators.
  • Represent the o p e rat i on depart m ent in p r oje c t m e et i n gs as needed.
  • Establish and review project objectives, polic i es, p r oc e d u res (MO P , S O P, and E OP ) and perfo r mance standar d s wi t hin boundaries o f c ompa n y policies. Put the s e in c l ear concise work st a t e ment for the f i e l d . F o ll o w S O Ps and MOPs a nd o ther w ork p r ocedur e s p recisely
  • Directly work with assigned technicians in all aspe c ts of day - to-d a y o perations and m ainte n an c e of all el e ctrical crit i cal faci l i t y e q ui p ment.
  • Ensure Site Teams are p r of i cient s yst e m o pe r ation and mai nt enance tech n i q u es. Provides direct instruction and training to less experienced O &M Sp e cialist s .
  • On-call to respond to e m e r g enc y situ a tions at the da t a ce nt er.
