Job Details
Under the direction of the Coordinators or designee, assists with the functional duties within the unit to support the daily operations of the unit. He/she functions as a member of the OR team to transfer and position patients, transport supplies and equipment, clean OR rooms and equipment. He/She is competent to provide care for infants to geriatric patient population.

  • 1. Supports the mission of the institution to meet or exceed the expectations of the internal or external customer utilizing established standard of behavior.
  • 2. Transports and delivers supplies and equipment as directed to facilitate implementation of patient care.
  • 3. Assists nursing staff with patient care activities as directed to support staff in maximizing productivity and/or provide additional manpower.
  • 4. Helps maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the unit to facilitate safe and effective patient care.
  • 5. Participates as a member of the health care team to facilitate accurate and prompt perioperative care.
  • 6. Performs other related duties and requests assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
