This senior-level role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead complex troubleshooting within a high-tempo operations environment. Core Tasks: * Create, update, and track incident tickets in Remedy while monitoring network events and alarms across multiple tools in a 24/7/365 environment. * Perform incident correlation, fault analysis, and root-cause isolation by filtering and interpreting alarm data, identifying impacts, determining failed elements, and coordinating corrective actions. * Diagnose and troubleshoot faults involving systems, circuits, hardware, software, facilities, and multi-layer network components including routers, switches, crypto devices, optical systems, DSN/DRSN, Cisco/Juniper platforms, MSPP, DWDM, and transport/IP routing. * Execute change-management tasks such as hardware replacement, software configuration, ASI support, fault logging, testing, localization, and assignment of incidents. * Restore network services by executing reroutes, normalization, and coordination with service providers; verify service restoration and document actions in the CMDB. * Provide Tier I/Tier II sustainment support, deliver timely situational awareness to leadership, and maintain continuous communication with O&M teams, customers, and mission partners. * Escalate incidents appropriately between Tier I and Tier II and maintain accurate ticket status, tracking, and reporting. * Assist with training Network Controllers, evaluate SOPs, tools, and processes, and contribute technical guidance for complex issues. * Support global situational awareness operations and demonstrate proficiency across multiple DISN functions and technologies. Qualifications: * High school diploma and 2-4 years of relevant experience. * DoD-8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) by start date. * Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment. * Experience with one or more: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management. * Expertise in at least three technologies: routers, switches, crypto devices, routing, DSN/DRSN, video services, Promina, Cisco, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, optical switching. * General understanding of transport and IP network topologies. Preferred: * Tech control facility or cyber transport experience. * Circuit actions and vendor coordination experience. * Strong IP architecture background. * Experience in Telco NOC, inside plant, or outside plant environments. * Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Teams). * Experience in one or more areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management. * Additional desirable certifications such as CCNA, CySA+, CASP, CCNP, JNCIE-ENT, JNCIA-Junos, WCNA, CCIE, F5 CTS, ITILv4, CCA-N, CCA-V, SolarWinds Certified Professional.
