The Workflow EMR Analyst / Clinical Informatics Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing clinical and operational workflows within the EMR. This role serves as a liaison between clinical users, operations leadership, and IT team, ensuring workflows are efficient, standardized, and aligned with patient and organizational goals.

The analyst evaluates current-state workflows by conducting onsite interviews, direct observations, and data reviews to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Insights and findings are translated into optimized future-state workflow designs that support clinical effectiveness, operational efficiency, and system usability.In addition, this role identifies and evaluates optimization opportunities, new system functionality, and build requests to enhance EMR performance and the end-user experience.

Key responsibilities include documenting workflows, workflow analysis, providing demos, supporting system configuration, and conducting testing and validations to ensure accuracy and readiness for go-live. The analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to support implementation and ongoing optimization efforts.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

1.     B.S. Degree in Nursing, Business, Systems, or  related field or Five (5) years healthcare financial or clinical experience

2.     Two (2) years healthcare financial, clinical systems, or training experience (with B.S. Degree)

3. Experience with EMR systems (Cerner preferred; Ambulatory a plus)

4. Knowledge of clinical and front-office workflows

5. Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills

6. Experience with implementations, optimization, or clinical informatics work

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED

 

1. Experience with DCWs and build/design documentation

2. Proficiency with Excel, SharePoint, OneNote, and project trackers
