Job description

A Funeral Director plays a vital role in coordinating and managing funeral services, providing compassionate support to families during difficult times. This position involves overseeing the preparation and embalming of bodies, planning ceremonies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with a medium-sized team to deliver respectful and professional funeral services. The Funeral Director works regular on-call shifts and primarily services local communities, contributing expertise without direct supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate funeral arrangements and services with families and vendors
  • Prepare and embalm bodies in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Plan and oversee funeral ceremonies ensuring all details meet client expectations
  • Provide compassionate support and bereavement counseling to grieving families
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Manage facility operations and coordinate vehicle use for transportation needs
  • Collaborate effectively within a medium team of 4-7 members to deliver quality service

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Funeral Director License
  • Proven skills in embalming and body preparation
  • Experience in bereavement counseling and customer service
  • Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
