Job description

At Merrimack Health, we are committed to pay transparency and equity. The base salary range is $34.87 to $48.81 hourly, excluding fringe benefits and potential bonuses.

Your final base salary will be determined based on your education, experience, licensure, and internal equity considerations. Offers are typically made below the top of the range to support future salary growth.

As the Histologist, you will perform manual and automated analysis and specialized procedures on various blood, tissue, and body fluids. Interpret results and quality control studies to ensure reliable result reporting. Processes clinical samples as needed, promoting a team effort for peak efficiency. Promotes a positive friendly image to patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel. Assists supervisor with tasks related to the general operation of an assigned section.

Required:

  • Satisfactory completion of a Histology or MT Program with a Bachelor's degree, or, Bachelor's degree with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry and one year full-time acceptable experience in a histopathology lab

  • Must be ASCP registered or registry eligible

  • Training/Experience acceptable to the Laboratory Director that meets accreditation requirements will be considered.

  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced setting

Preferred:

  • Satisfactory completion of a Histology (HT or HTL) program
