Role Overview
As a Histologist, you will be responsible for preparing and processing tissue specimens to support accurate diagnostic review. You will oversee all phases of tissue processing, maintain laboratory standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of tissue processing from fixation through final slide preparation
  • Perform embedding, sectioning, staining, and special histology techniques
  • Maintain laboratory files, records, and documentation required by regulatory agencies
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Monitor and restock laboratory supplies to ensure continuous workflow
  • Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance in all histology processes
  • Support timely and reliable preparation of specimens for diagnostic use
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
🎓 Education - Required
  • High School Diploma or GED

🎓 Education - Preferred
  • Completion of a Histotechnology program or related technical training
  • Associate's degree in a related field

Experience
  • Preferred: Laboratory-related experience

Licensure / Certification
  • Required: ASCP Certified Histotechnician (HT)
  • Preferred: Additional ASCP certification
