Role Overview

As a Histologist, you will oversee all phases of tissue processing, from fixation through final slide preparation, ensuring high‑quality histology services that support accurate diagnosis. This role includes performing special stains and techniques, maintaining required documentation, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all phases of tissue processing from fixation through final slide preparation
  • Performing special stains and histological techniques as required
  • Maintaining all files, records, and documentation in compliance with state and federal licensing requirements
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Stocking supplies and ensuring appropriate inventory levels
  • Performing other duties as assigned in support of pathology services
Qualifications Education

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred:

  • Technical program completion in Histotechnology
  • Associate's degree in a related field
Experience

Preferred:

  • Laboratory‑related experience
Licensure / Certification

Required:

  • ASCP Certified Histotechnician

Preferred:

  • ASCP Certified Histotechnologist
