Assistant Controller
Delray Beach, FL | Onsite (5 Days/Week)
$120,000-$140,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
A growing, privately held construction company is looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join its accounting leadership team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building processes, and is looking for potential growth opportunities.
Working closely with the CFO, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations, support a major ERP transition, strengthen financial controls, and help drive the company's continued growth.
What You'll Do
  • Manage full-cycle construction accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, purchasing, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Maintain job cost integrity, cost coding accuracy, and financial data within Vista by Viewpoint, while supporting the company's ERP transition from Sage Intacct.
  • Review and process purchase orders while ensuring efficient AP/AR workflows.
  • Partner with the CFO on treasury management, banking relationships, cash flow, and other financial initiatives.
  • Utilize Vista by Viewpoint and advanced Excel to manage project financials, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally while serving as the accounting subject matter expert and helping develop scalable accounting processes.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of construction accounting experience with strong full-cycle accounting expertise.
  • 2+ years of leadership or people management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, not required
  • Experience with Vista by Viewpoint strongly preferred (other construction ERP systems will also be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of job costing, cost coding, financial reporting, and construction accounting best practices.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • A self-starter who can work independently, communicate effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
