Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Azure D&A Architect to lead the strategy, design, and governance of the enterprise data ecosystem. The role combines high-level architecture with hands-on strategy, with a strong focus on data governance and data modeling while incorporating modern Azure Databricks and AI capabilities. The architect will design scalable Azure Lakehouse and Data Warehouse environments, establish data governance and metadata management frameworks, and provide technical leadership to data engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Design robust enterprise data models, including Conceptual, Logical, and Physical models, for scalable Azure data environments.
• Develop architecture blueprints for Azure Lakehouse and Data Warehouse environments.
• Establish data governance frameworks, policies, metadata management, and lineage tracking using technologies such as Azure Purview.
• Architect modern data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and PySpark.
• Collaborate with data science teams to integrate and scale AI/ML workloads across the enterprise data ecosystem.
• Guide data engineering teams and provide technical leadership across architecture and delivery initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with business goals.
Required Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture.
• Deep expertise in the Azure Data Stack, including ADLS, ADF, Synapse, and Purview.
• Strong mastery of data modeling methodologies, including Star Schema, Snowflake, and Data Vault.
• Proven experience designing and implementing Data Governance and metadata management frameworks.
• Practical experience with Azure Databricks, including Delta Lake and PySpark.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration, MLOps, or Azure OpenAI services.
• Strong architectural and technical leadership capabilities.
Certifications
• Relevant Azure or Databricks certifications.
