Job description

At NCSS, we are dedicated to providing immediate and compassionate support to individuals in crisis. As a key partner with the 988 Lifeline, our mission is to ensure that everyone has access to the help they need, when they need it the most. We are seeking a dedicated 988 Lifeline Responder to join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide immediate assessment, intervention, and referrals for individuals in crisis as part of NCSS' contracted services with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
  • Deliver 988 Lifeline services through telephone, chat, and text platforms, ensuring accessibility for all individuals seeking help.
  • Refer clients to appropriate community resources when clinically indicated, ensuring they receive the support they need.
  • Conduct follow-ups via phone, chat, and/or text per 988 Lifeline and NCSS policies to provide ongoing support and monitor client well-being.
  • Be an active, responsive, and supportive member of the Emergency Services & 988 teams, contributing to a collaborative and positive work environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related education, training & experience.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, emergency services, or related field preferred.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to individuals in crisis.
