Electrical Estimator - Construction - Base Salary to 90k/year - Galesburg, IL

  • Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to support commercial, industrial, and federal electrical construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, performing material takeoffs, evaluating subcontractor and vendor pricing, and collaborating with operations and project management teams to ensure a seamless transition from bid through project award.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
  • Perform material quantity takeoffs and develop labor hour estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects
  • Prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial, industrial, federal, negotiated, and design-build projects
  • Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Analyze project scope, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support value engineering efforts when appropriate
  • Track bid schedules and manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlines
  • Maintain estimating databases, unit pricing, and historical cost information
  • Support project turnover to operations and project management after project award
  • Assist with federal contracting requirements including Davis-Bacon, prevailing wage, and SAM.gov compliance as needed
  • Utilize estimating software and Microsoft Excel to prepare estimates, organize project data, and maintain bid documentation

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience with commercial and industrial electrical construction
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation:
